Dennis Alexander A dazzling display by a dozen pianos in concert together. This concert will present tens of pianists of all ages, including young artists, college/graduate students, and enthusiasts from The Bay Area. Dennis Alexander, one of North America's most prolific and popular composers of educational piano music, will conduct monster pieces which involve a dozen pianos in ensemble. This will be a fun community event, which presents piano music making as a large group function.

KPMF will present the 1st Monster Piano concert in the South Bay area on Sunday, January 31, 2010. This concert will feature pianists of all ages performing on twelve Steinway & Sons pianos in concert.
Piano teachers and their students are invited to take part and play their choice of duet or two-piano composition and perform on stage at San Jose State University Concert Hall (San Jose) under the direction of conductor, Dennis Alexander.
Dennis Alexander, one of North America's most prolific and popular composers of educational piano music, will lead his own compositions as well as works by Lynn Freeman Olson, Dan Coates, and John Philip Sousa. Other featured performers include Gwendolyn Mok and students from the piano program at San Jose State University, the Peery Music Academy , Berkeley Academy of Music and Tchii's Piano School of Music in Alameda. The KPMF Monster Concert will also feature the world premiere of a specially commissioned 8-piano work by Los Altos-based composer Sondra Clark.
Participating teachers and students may use music; MEMORIZATION IS NOT REQUIRED. Click here to see the repertoire list to see and hear excerpts from the featured compositions. When group activities with peers are involved, performers learn much more than they imagined through personal interaction and increased motivation. This unique piano ensemble event will be a landmark event that conveys the musical power of tightly knit teamwork! This event is co-sponsored thanks to the generosity of San Jose State University, West Valley College, Sherman Clay Pianos, Alfred Publishing, Bookmark Music and many other individual donors and volunteers.
Pay $35 Entry Fee Online (Entry fee includes one adult ticket to January 31 Concert!)
In other words, "Entry is Free, but you must purchase one ticket." This is to promote the entries and attendance at the concert. Thank you for your support.
For a participant who wishes to perform multiple pieces, entry fees are waived. However, please purchase one extra ticket for an extra performance. For example, in order to perform two pieces, buy one ticket; to perfrom three pieces, buy two tickets. Tickets can be any type including Adults, Senior/Students or Children (~18). Invite your friends.
